Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect what you give us to make a match: business owners' project answers and contact details, and consultants' profiles and resumes.
- Approved consultant profiles are public, except email addresses and resumes. A business's brief and message go only to the consultants it asks to meet.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing aidan@useautomatch.com.
1. Who we are
AutoMatch is an online marketplace that matches business owners with independent AI consultants and automation builders. AutoMatch is operated by Aidan Styan in Savannah, Georgia, USA ("AutoMatch," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through our website at useautomatch.com, how we use it and the choices you have.
AutoMatch introduces businesses and consultants. Consultants are independent and are not our employees. Once you're introduced, information you share directly with each other, for example by email, is governed by that person's own practices.
2. What we collect
If you're a business owner using the match agent
- Your project brief: your answers to the match agent, including your business name (optional), industry, the problem you describe in your own words, what you want automated, the tools you use, team size, budget, timeline, the kind of help you want and your location preference.
- Intro requests: when you ask to meet a consultant, your name, email address and the message you write.
If you use a deal room or make or receive payments
- Messages and milestones: what you and the other party write in your deal room, milestone details, and payment status. Before a milestone is funded, we automatically hide phone numbers, email addresses and links in messages.
- Payment details: Stripe collects card and bank details directly. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as the payment method type, amount and status, never full card or bank account numbers.
- Payout setup (consultants): Stripe collects identity, tax and bank information to verify you and pay you. We see whether your payouts are switched on, not your bank details.
Please don't include sensitive personal information, such as health, financial account or government ID details, in your project description or messages.
If you're a consultant
- Account details: your email address, which you verify with a one-time code. We don't use passwords.
- Profile: name, company, headline, city and state, time zone, years of experience, how you work, specialties, tools and platforms, industries served, professional summary, project examples, rates, minimum project size, availability, typical reply time and an optional LinkedIn or website link.
- Resume: the PDF or Word file you upload.
- Review information: whether your profile is pending, approved or rejected, and any note we send you about it.
Collected automatically
- Technical data: our hosting and database providers process standard technical information when your browser connects, such as IP address, browser type and the date and time of requests. They use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
- No advertising tracking: we don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics that build profiles of you across other websites.
3. How we use it
- To match you: we compare a business's brief with consultant profiles to rank matches and explain why each one fits.
- To make introductions: we send a business's message and brief to the consultant it chose, and send the business a confirmation.
- To run deal rooms and payments: we deliver messages, email you when there's something new, process milestone payments, release or refund them, and keep records needed to resolve disputes and meet tax and accounting rules.
- To run accounts: we send consultants sign-in codes, review profiles before they're listed, and tell consultants when a profile is approved or needs changes.
- To keep AutoMatch safe: we enforce limits on intro requests, prevent spam and abuse, and investigate problems.
- To improve the service: we look at which needs and industries come up most so we can recruit the right consultants and improve matching.
- To communicate with you: we send service messages about your account, requests and changes to our terms or this policy. If we ever send marketing emails, we'll give you a way to unsubscribe.
- To meet legal obligations: we respond to lawful requests and protect our rights and the rights of our users.
4. Who can see your information
| Information | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Approved consultant profile | Anyone visiting AutoMatch, in match results and the directory. Your email address and resume are not shown publicly. |
| Consultant email | AutoMatch only. When a business requests an intro, we email you, and you choose whether and how to reply. |
| Consultant resume | AutoMatch staff reviewing your profile, and you. It's stored in a private file area. |
| Business project brief | AutoMatch staff, and only the consultants you request an intro with. |
| Business name and message | The consultant you send it to, plus AutoMatch staff. |
| Business email | AutoMatch only. Consultants reply in your deal room. Contact details you share in messages are hidden until the first milestone is funded. |
| Deal room messages and milestones | The business and consultant in that deal, plus AutoMatch staff (to resolve disputes and prevent fraud). |
We also share information when required by law, to protect the safety, rights or property of AutoMatch or our users, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
5. Service providers
We use these companies to run AutoMatch. They process information on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- Supabase: database, sign-in codes and private file storage for resumes. Data is stored in the United States.
- Google (Gmail): sends our emails, including sign-in codes, intro requests, approval notices and deal room updates.
- Netlify: hosts the website.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr and cdnjs: deliver fonts and code libraries the site uses. Your browser connects to them directly when the page loads, which shares your IP address with them.
- Stripe: processes payments and consultant payouts and verifies consultants' identities. Stripe handles this information under its own privacy policy.
6. Browser storage
AutoMatch saves a few things in your own browser's local storage so the site works smoothly. These include your latest project brief, so the directory can show your match scores; intro requests you've sent, so buttons show "Intro requested"; a copy of your consultant profile draft; and, if you're signed in, your sign-in session. This information stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
7. How long we keep it
- Consultant profiles and resumes: while your profile is active. If you ask us to delete your profile, we remove it and your resume within 30 days.
- Project briefs and intro requests: up to 24 months, so we can handle follow-ups and disputes and improve matching. After that we delete them or strip anything that identifies you.
- Backups and legal records: copies in backups may remain for a limited time until overwritten. We keep information longer only when the law requires it.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), database access rules that limit each person to the information they're allowed to see, a private storage area for resumes, one-time sign-in codes in place of passwords, and limits on how many requests can be sent. No online service can be completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we'll notify you as required by law.
9. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that's wrong
- delete your information, or your consultant profile and resume
- stop using your information for a particular purpose
Email aidan@useautomatch.com from the address you used with AutoMatch. We'll respond within 30 days, and may need to confirm it's really you first. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Some U.S. states, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Texas, give residents specific privacy rights, such as rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of the sale of personal information. We honor these requests for everyone, whether or not a particular law applies. We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
10. Children
AutoMatch is for businesses and professionals and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as AutoMatch grows. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for significant changes we'll notify registered users by email before they take effect.
